Worried about the timeing....

I have the 1g 4g63T motor in a 2g car..but the problem is...I have the 2g cams sprockets/gears on the cams....and Im sure that the 1g dowel pins face up...right?
Or am I wrong?
I can't use the 1g gears cause when the car was rolled it broke the cam gears.....soo...I can't find any 1g gears soon enough...all I need to know is the dowel pin up or down on the 1g motors?!?!??!
