just got my o2 dump from punishment racing wow only took one day, can't wait to install it, DP and cat-back is in the mail!!

Jeez, atleast they de-burred it for you :barf: Bust out the die grinder man. All that excess weld and pipe overhang is going to make the exhaust end up back in the turbine. Grind that down.

if you knew the price you wouldnt complain.

that was most likely their MIG welded pipe. they have an option for TIG welding which is excellent and its also a more precise machine.

JUST A WARNING, those dumps are NOT universal. i bought a used one, looks exactly like pic and will NOT fit a 1ga. it hits the radiator before its even fitted. i have to cut and weld mine a different route.

mine is 3 inch dump.
it definatly spools faster, doest start to spool sooner, but builds psi faster.
I have a video i can send someone if tehy want to see it, of a cockpit run. and you can hear it real well.

215$ for 30 dollars in parts? Talk about a profit sheesh.

Not everybody has a welder and proper skills though, so that's why we have to spend more :p. I think $215 is a damn good deal for a 2.5'' O2 dump tho.

Anyway, looks good! Try to get a sound clip if you can, I just love the way it sounds. Good luck with it!

I have the exact same dump from punishment racing on my car now. If i were you i would get the thing rewelded and/or clean up the welds. When i recieved mine the welds were awful and actually had a hole that went all the way through the bead. I broke out my mig and die grinder and redid the whole piece. I wouldn't install it in its current condition without at least smoothing out the inside beads.

You know how to weld and you bought one of these??

I've got the same piece been running it for a month or two now, I've noticed absolutely no problems with it. Good buy!

P.S. I wouldn't bother with re-welding it, I'm sure punishment has sold a boat load of these and I haven't seen even one complaint, with the exception of the weld job. But for 215$, wtf cares!! They are strong enough to hold, and I doubt it will cause any noticable performance loss.

Could you send me that video? I've been considering getting an o2 dump, but I don't want it to be obnoxiously loud.

BTW, I tried PMing you, but it couldn't go through.

Thanks!

If you dont want it to be obnoxiously loud when you go WOT then don't get an o2 dump.

Impulse buy, i got it and i was like, wtf?!!! I could have made one myself of alot better quality. They were $150 shipped when i got mine.

Sounds like you have an older one, made from mild steel, and possibly before they upgraded their welders.

The one he got is stainless steel and welded with their new equipment.

I just cant see paying that much for parts that can be found laying on the side of any freeway.

What freeway? I'd really like to know a freeway you can find DSM-specific parts laying on the road. :dsm: :talon: :laser: :thumb:

it would cost 60$ :p after i got mine, i ordered a o2 flange, dp flange, and o2 bung from fp. pipe i ordered from summit, now im making my own that will fit every mitsu, even with irc race fmic. and it wont melt your radiator fans. my PR o2 is shitty too, i smoothed out everything but it is a very ugly piece. however i dont care because looks me nothing to me, and its wrapped in heatwrap anyway :p

The one i got looked just like the one in the picture above, if they got "better welding equipment" they certainly haven't learned how to use it. I redid mine with a $200 korean mig i bought off of cumminstool.com and before i smoothed it out with a die grinder the beads still looked better than that. You could ignore the crappy welding but when you go to the trouble to port your manifold and turbo, why would you install something that could possibly impede flow and cost horsepower(look at the flange that go's to the exhaust).
