to start off with my ecu is messed up and get cel every other day with missfireing ( getting an eprom today after 6 ). my base level timing was droped to 9, after i had hardly any power on my 15.4 run at 88. For the past couple of weeks its been really acting up, one min ill be knocking like crazy and have barely any timing. Then ill get to a stop light or sign and wait for a bit and be perfectly fine or somewhat fine. could this be my ecu or mayee some sensor that went out any help apprecaited

hey i think im having the same problem as you its really frustrating because one minute my car will be running ok and the next i get a ton of knock, please tell me if you figure anything out.

so i picked up my ecu friday off a 92 tsi awd 5spd w/ 53k on it and installed it later that day. Fixed my missfireing issues but i think i have a boost leak so i need to get that check out and hopefully it should run fine.

/\G - pull your ecu out , it will take no time at all , and smell around the area where you put the wireing harness to see if it smells like fish or just pop it open to see and if thats the case they ya your caps on the ecu are leaking and could either replace them for 35$ or cheaper if it hasent fried through your pc board.

so i barrowd my friends logger after installing a mbc he gave me and set it at 15lbs of boost.

23degrees of timing
190 colant temp ( getting new coolant )
123 intake temp ( building heat shield and try for a ram air setup )
0 knock
103% injector duty cycle ( looking for 3k gt vr4 or mkiv supra tt fuel pump )
