i've been having a lot of problems with my car recently. My car is always hesitating and just jerking around under acceleration. also, my idle is horrible and the car stalls at times when i come to a stop. on my safc throttle readout, the signal is in and out. it'll read 40% under acceleration (normal) and then cut out to 0%, stay there for while and then go back and forth. it's really erratic. i figured it was the tps so i went to the junkyards and picked a couple of 2g tps'. put those in and the problem is still there.

whipped out the datalogger and pulled 3 codes:

1) P1400: Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Malfunction
2) P0120: Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor; Switch a Circuit
3) P0105: Map Barometric Pressure Sensor Malfunction

Going to the Chilton's Manual, my friend and I tested the voltage of the TPS and even swapped MAP sensors. The sensors are good and the problem is still there. Then we go ahead and test the harness of the TPS. Readout was 0.013 compared to his 5.2v readout. So we figured the harnesses aren't getting power for some reason; that's why the signal is so weak and just cuts out every now and then.

Anyone have any ideas? I don't really see a reason why there would be a severed connection and we doublechecked the SAFC connection to the ECU throttle wire. Also, we checked the battery and alternator. everything checked out good.

Check pin 81 on the 2G ECU for the 5v sensor power feed.

I just had guy come by today with a 1G with 0.5v at his TPS and MAF baro where 5v should have been. I suspect he'll be back after he checks the wires for me to fix his ECU.

Yo steve (gsxpower)

you guys have the same name! funny, hey Steve pointed out a great suggestion about the ecu wire that supplies the 5v power! Would that also affect the Map sensor as well?

If you need help bro, call me up!

I still need to borrow that apexi adapter for smog.

Neil :)

yea...great advice, steve. i just spliced the wire right at the ecu and ran it directly to the harnesses. everything is working perfectly now and the car doesn't buck anymore.

if anyone knows what i can do to fix my problem w/ being unable to boost over 10 psi....that would be great. changed plugs n wires but problem is still there. car builds boost to 10 n then just studders n can't build anymore boost.

yo neil, i'll drop by ur place later on this week to drop off that adapter!!!

Instead of posting a new thread, I decided to post in here.

Since I've put on my 3inch turbo back exhaust I've pulled the p1400 code with my CEL.

How do I get rid of it? I reset it with a datalogger but it just keeps coming back.

It has only come on since I've done my exhaust. How do I get rid of it for good without dsmlink or such?????
