Okay I have 97 eclipse gsx and im getting a cat-back but I was wondering was it worth spending $500+ to get like a greddy or apex........because I can get a non- name brand for like $190 what do you guys think I should do and what is the difference between non- name brand and name brand if there is any

you get what you pay for.

the only way it's not cheapo price with cheapo quality is if you take it to a local exhaust shop and have some mandrel bends made with a good dynomax muffler or something

He is saying, if you can find a muffler shop that does custom mandrel bent exhaust thats going to be alot less and give you the same effect that the 500 dollar apexi or greddy exhaust is going to give you. If you cant find that and dont want to spend 500 bucks, try dsmtrader or ebay for deals on a used exhaust system. I got my Greddy SP for 300 bucks in good shape. If not, just bite the bullet and buy a top name exhaust.

Exhaust/muffler shops will do it, but make sure you check out their work
Also, a local performance shop with fabrication equipment will make a pretty good one. They generally do a better job than midas :laugh:

midas and meineke are ghey. they wanted to charge me a grand for a 2.25" pressbent exhaust with no flex... WTF? i told him he was smoking crack and left haha :laugh:

get this one: Bosal cat-back it's 3" SS and polished, with a dual 3.5" tip muffler.

Sounds great, looks great, necks down to 2.2" to meet the stock catalytic converter. I cut the flange off of this and my DP and had a piece of SS 3" expanded to slip over it.

My total turbo-back exhaust cost me $450. OH and it's ALL SS w/ 3-stage polish.

search your area i bet you can get one made for under 200 if you get a good muffler. i got my full 3 inch made for 350 bucks thats turbo backl and sounds/preforms awsome! unless you want the apexi or what ever name either way good luck

buschur has some nice catbacks for 200 to like 350 bones ... i'm not a big fan of greedy or apex ahaust systems... most make fake claims about being 3" (if you go the 3" route) but have placews that are like 2" or 2 1/4" ... like in the "mandrel bends" ... i have a 2 1/2 catless mufflerless exhuast that is pretty coo
