Tranny Question

Ok, so i was driving then out of nowherer my car will no longer go into 2nd or 4th gear. It doesnt frind or anything it just feels really really loose and wont go into those 2 gears. Doesn anyone have any ideas on what this could be??

Check you shifter linkage under the hood. There should be a little play but nothing out of the ordinary. Also make shure that you can shift by hand into all gears 1 through reverse. If you can that means that your shifter linkage is going or gone bad.

Also check the shifter itself and the linkage under the console. Can you shift it into all gears when the car is not running?

Good news, it turned out to be the linkage cable and now that its tightened down its shifting better than ever Thanks for the help guys
