From what i was reading IF you block the EGR you can run WITHOUT the MDP sensor on the intake manifold. I blocked the EGR but tee'd off " P " for the MDP and left it hanging. Will i get a CEL if i get rid of MDP and tuck the harness away? It doesnt go into detail about that on the taboo site or rre. Right now i have the EGR blocked off with it hooked up but i want to get rid of it if i can without the EGR.ANyone know for sure on this?

I had the egr blocked, left the mdp plugged in, and did NOT have the charcoal cannister plugged into the intake and I didnt get a visible CEL. (I did have the mdp error show up on the logger, but not a CEL light)

But, with the egr blocked, the mdp plugged in, and the charcoal cannister routed to the intake suction, I did get a CEL.

I got rid of all of that.Cannister and those things attached to it are gone. I have the MDP still plugged in though. Just wondering if anyone has gone without MDP plugged in at all and throws a CEL or not. I dont have logger equipment or a way to read engine codes at this moment. And im probably going to be throwing other codes along with this swap so i was asking if anyone did it trial and error like you did except pulled out the MDP all together. The diagrams and RRE seems to be saying you can get rid of MDP IF you do the block-off.Thanks for your input.

RRE quote "If you are going to be keeping the EGR system, a chunk of aluminum needs to be fabricated to bolt the MAP sensor to and that piece gets welded on top of the "EFI MULTI" on the 1G manifold. Its only purpose is to check EGR operation.
If you toss the EGR, just make a EGR block off plate. " end quote... So its saying IF you are keeping the EGR system the you have to make that bracket ETC.Thus meaning if you take the EGR out you dont need the MPS at all.Right? Thats what they are saying.Heres the link also. http://www.roadraceengineering.com/1g2gheadswaptechtip.htm Let me know what you guys think.
