Hi all,
I recently bought a 97 Talon TSi AWD turbo which I plan to mod slowly but surely over the long haul. I'm a newbie to mods and in no way a gear head. I'll be sticking to the easy mods or having a shop do them. My first car was a 90 and I wish I never would've sold it. Anyway...
The only thing I've found so far that isn't working the way it should is the shifter when starting from a stop. I'd say about 1 out of every 7-8 times, the shifter pops out of first gear when I start rolling.
Anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this and how to go about fixing it?
My first thought/hope is that I'm not quite getting the clutch all the way down and getting it completely in gear. I'll be testing this in the coming days...making sure to floor the clutch and be sure the shifter is all the way into first. Hopefully that's all it will take. Every clutch needs some getting used to, right? I've only been driving the car for about 1 tank of gas so far.
The other question I had was about the 1 free mod in the tuner list. Anyone want to walk me through the process for cutting the vent for the intercooler in the passenger front wheel well? Do you take the inner wheel well liner off to do this? What do you put back over the hole you created? How?
Last question for now...what is the stock intercooler called? Is it upper? Lower? Side? I ask because eventually I want to replace the tubing with hard pipe and want to be sure to order the right pipes.
Thanks in advance. Sorry if I'm being too much of a newbie. I did search the forums threads and FAQ but didn't find what I was looking for. More likely because I searched incorrectly than the info isn't already out there.
