I have a 95 turbo eclipse and I overheated from busting a hose getting my engine all wet. It still ran fine until I was able to get to a station to check the problem. Now my car will not start. I turns over and but does not want to start. I have no fuel pressure as well. BUT every now and then the car will start but shuts off immediatly. I took the hose off coming from the fuel filter to the fuel rail and put the ignition in the on position and no fuel came out. I also cranked it and still no fuel spurt out. I reallly really need to get this resolved and cannot find an answer.

I have been doing a lot of reading on this forum for this problem but never get a complete answer. It seems that there are a lot of theories in what could have happened

Will that "CAS" sensor have anything to do with it as you guys said that I read about in this thread?

I have a feeling it's my fuel pump. I am very new to dsm's but not to cars.

I need for you help.

Thanks,
Gilbert

Do you even hear your fuel pump hum... you may want to start with that. It should run for about 3 seconds when you turn on the ignition.

The fuel pump is located under the rear seat on the passenger side. Pull out the rear seat and you should hear it.

Yea, I have gotten passed that point, my back seat is out. I can't hear the fuel pump at all when I turn the ignition on and I now it's supposed feed fuel into the fuel rail which is why you hear it, but it isn't doing that as well from when I took that off. It could be the fuel filter suddenly clogged, but I don't think so, I am gonna check the line on before the fuel filter. I AM 99% sure it's the fuel pump. I was just wondering from everything that I have been reading if there was a relay, sensor, a fuse or ANYTHING of that sort that could have gone bad causing my fuel pump to not work. I really don't wanna go through the hassle of changing the fuel pump.

I really appreciate your help, keep them coming.

Thanks,
Gilbert
189k miles on first motor and turbo and m tranny and STILL going......I hope.

it could allso be ecu.my fuel pump only worked from time to time car starts then shuts off right away.i would check ecu frist see if the caps leaked.thats what happend to me.

UPDATE

So today I checked to see if the fuel pump is getting power. It is NOT! Is there a relay for the fuel pump or a fuse or anything? I really need to know what is in line that can affect the power of the fuel pump. I don't want to resort to replacing the ecu just yet.

Thanks,

Gilbert
