I don't have any oil pressure in my car. The thing is sitting jacked up on the floor of my garage. I have taken out most every thing that looks like it could be a problem with the oil pressure. I have two questions:

1. What does a bad oil pressure release valve look like.(I thought maby it was leaking pressure and that was my problem)

2. Has anyone ever had to get a new oil pump in there car?(Mine has 136k on the engine so I think that the pump might just not be putting out enough pressure. It pumps oil, but I don't really know how much oil the thing is supposed to pump.)

Any imput would be nice on this one cosidering this is my only car and I am currently getting rides to work and school.

No, the jackass that I bought it from had unplugged the oil pressure sensor, and the oil pressure gage doesn't work, so I had no idea the thing was going to go out on me. Sucks to because I just got it and only drove it for two days before it went belly up.

When I tried to crank the engine the thing had a nasty rattling sound that was coming from right under the valve covers. I think that was the lifters not having any oil in them. That tell me that there is no pressure, or at least not enough.

Yes - Eventually they should "pump up" if the motor is spun well off a hot Battery - but that takes a while & probably some Jumper Cables if it's been laid up for a while - So did it EVER run since you bought - or is it like the last 2 I bought & was DOA?

Yes, the car ran fine for two days. Just the oil pressure guage in the car never moved. I dind't think that would be much of a problem because I figured that the oil pressure sensor would go off if the pressure got to low. After my car die I found that the sensor was unplugged and then the light whent off.
