Just wondering, if right when you start the car up, and you get a puff of white smoke that lasts for 3 seconds at the most...and it only does it SOMETIMES...what would that signify?? I know head gasket....but what if you just replaced the head gasket about a month ago??

Does it smoke at all when your driving? Otherwise its completely normal. Water condensates inside your exhaust after it cools down. When you start it up, it just burns off the water thats collected. No worries!! If you still worried, check your oil and coolent. If there is any sign of mixing, then its the headgasket...but I'm sure your fine.

ya i think its normal... but that puff is caused by condensation? mine never puffs, it just sprays water out when i idle when its cold...

Yea, it'll blow out water too...I think it just depends on where the condensation is. If its somewhere that gets really hot really fast, it'll just vaporize it. Stuff in the muffler and past the cat will just blow out, or drip out the water hole in the muffler.

What if it blows white smoke all the time you're driving, but mostly just when starting from idle, say at a stoplight?

Most of the time when you are running rich the smoke will be black, I would check your turbo for shaftplay. What turbo are you running now, still the t25? There is a chance your seals in your turbo or shot and oil is passing through.

Sorry, I meant coolant. Also you may want to check the headgasket, that has also been known to cause the white exhaust smoke.
