promoly insert question

Ive been looking for a vendor that will sell me the promoly insert for my 1g. The only thing I could find was through summit and they say that they are for a 95 and up. will it fit on my car or do I have to have one specifically designed for my year? I just recently replaced my front mm with a factory replacement about 1500 miles ago and its already torn. WTF?? If I get the new insert do I have to relpace the origanal? Its only torn on the top part were the rubber is the thinnest. the rest of it is fine.
