i cant belive i am FINALLY posting something positive about my car...for the past 2 months i have been experiencing problems with my 98 GSX...ever since i put in my BIG 16G i have had problems...it has been a very weird experience
1) the car ran alright after putting the 16 in, but my lower intercooler pipe was blowing off so i had to get it custom made to fit...after getting that fixed i installed my 255lph fuel pump...now is when the problem started
2) for some reason after installing my fuel pump i had a very slight stuttering at high RPMs, like some was just kinking something in my car and choking it, i still ran 14.3 at like 13 psi...i didn't realize i was only running on 13 so i turned it up to about 15 and that is when i had major problems...
3) my car for the first time was experiencing fuel cut, so i thought that i would just turn my boost down...for some reason the stuttering was getting worse and worse gradually over a couple of weeks, turning down the boost didnt matter...so i replaced the plugs and wires with NGK 7s and MSD wires...
3) i was still popping and getting cut sometimes...eventually over about a month and a half, i could barely get on the gas, my A/F showed i was running really rich, so we just thought i had a problem with that...maybe i installed my fuel pump wrong, so i finally grew some balls and figured i couldn't fix the problem and took it to a mechanic, and told him to run a vac test and chekc for boost leaks, check my fuel injectors, check all of this stuff...he coudln't figure anything out and now my car wont run...
4) FINALLY i grew even BIGGER balls and took it to mitsubishi, in an 1 hour and a half they called me back and said that my lower intercooler pipe was leaking and that all i needed was a gasket! went and picked it up in disbelief and the car runs like it is brand new!
...this story might suck, but that is what i went through and i would just like to thank everyone who helped me with ideas on what it could be...i hope i helped someone out..
BUT...the moral of the story is, i dont care how much you think you may know or your friend knows, the best thing to do is take it to Mitsubishi, they will def. fix it no matter what...now i know i should have prob. just ran a boost leak test, but my studdering felt way more than that...Thanks, Joe

How much did mitsu get out of you?
Well its good you car runs
...yeah well the mechanic took 130 dollars for doing nothing...well he made my car worse and i had to have it towed...mitsu. was cool, i had to pay 170 i think...but my car now runs the best it ever has...i am running about 16psi and creeeping (which sucks) and that is my next goal to stop boost creep, but i am hitting like 18 sometimes 19 psi and it is running strong
