my 3 day old 98 gsx with 30k miles has developed a squeek coming from the front drivers side wheel.. it is totally speed dependant, it does not vary with rpm or brake useage, but it gets a bit louder when i jerk the wheel to the right and it gets quieter when i jerk it to the left... i had the wheel off last night in hopes that it was the brake rotor heat shield rubbing but that didnt solve it.. and there was no play in the wheel that i could notice when i checked that.. the brake rotors look smooth and i could not see any excessive wear on any component. does anyone know the procedure for greasing the wheel bearings? i just bought the car 3 days ago and havent even gotten a repair manual for it yet.. hopefully lubrication will solve it as i have not noticed any strangeness in the drivability, just an annoying sound. maybe i should also mention that the tire on the wheel in question is worn more than the other 3 on the car.. i am assuming that the drivers side wheel is the one that gets most of the power applied to it during accelleration since there is no lsd up front.. anyone have any insight? if it turns out my wheel bearing is going out how tough is the install of a replacement? this really sucks.. the car is totally stock in mint condition other than this
