Boost Leak yes indeed

When my turbo spools up, i get a delay until the power comes on. I'm guessing maybe it's a boost leak somewhere. Can anyone tell me what happens when there is a boost leak (causes, effects, etc.)? I need to make sure it is a boost leak. Does anyone know how to check for it? Thanks

-If you use a air compressor, use a long air hose and keep the compressor far away from the car, because once the compressor kick in, you can hear shit. I don't put a valve stem on mine, I inject air throught the nibble on the intake manifold where it feed the brake booster.
