Hi guys, first post here. I have had my 91 talon tsi for about 1 month. First turbo car and love it. I am knowledgable about engines and EFI systems. This is my first distributless system. Anyway. I changed my timing belt 3 days ago, car started and ran great right afterwards, just like I did nothing to it. Tonite, I start it and about 30 seconds into warm up, its starts to stumble, not bad tho. I drive it 5 miles to town and the stumble gets worse now with a ping under throttle. it has never pinged before. Plus it only builds 7psi of boost now. I have done some searches, and all my intake connections are good, MAS is pllugged in. I cant think of anything with the belt change since it ran for 2 days now, and this morning with no troubles.

Car has 175K miles, all stock with no catalytic converter and aftermarkter muffler.

Anything I can check.............

i think have the same problem, im trying to figure out what it is. i can hear a clicking from the inside of the "cockpit" and it stumbles and sometimes dies.. in first gear you have to rev it up before you can start going or else it will stumble around, and the check engine light comes on. i have replaced my MAS and messed with my idle a little bit, i am still having the problems though. if anyone knows what to do about it, please share, seems like im not the only one having this unfortunate problem. :talon:

my check engine light has not come on. the car starts every time, and stays at an idle, just stumbles like my carbed rigs, and stumble at load and pings bad. I am going to check the timing marks tomorrow, and check the timing. Odd that it builds only 7psi of boost, since just this morning it ran like a raped ape.

Have not fixed the problem yet, thats later tonite, but my crank has spun on the timeing belt. Cams are advanced to the crank by like 2" on the pulley, say 10 teeth. Thought I got the tensioner all fixed up and installed correctly. back apart it comes tonite.
