I have a 97 GST and I am switching from my stock radiator fan(the one on the passenger side) to an aftermarket slimline fan 14inch. The new fan comes with two wires(power and ground). The wiring harness from the original fan has four wires(blue, black, white with a blue stripe, and white with a black stripe). I tried hooking up the fan to just the blue and black wires from the original harness and the fan would not work. What wires must be connected for this to work?

first hook the two wires from the slimline to a battery to find out the polarity. Mkae sure it pushes not pulls. If it pulls switch the wires. Second you need to wait till the car is hot to do it. The fan will not just run and run and run. The black and blue wire only hold power when the coolant reaches a certain temp then the fans come on. Mine worked fine when i hooked them up to the black and the blue. Sorry if you knew all of this but i was just trying to help with my own experiences.
