we just got done finally finishing the 6 bolt swap....that shit pulls really hard...but started leaking oil REALLY bad...i mean like a qt in a few mins...so we took apart the whole timing belt side and the front cover seemed to be leaking...so we got new gaskets and all for it...and replaced the front cover gasket, oil pan and every gasket around there...and now its still leaking...not as much but still way too much to be able to drive...any ideas...we removed the balance shafts...and made sure to plug up the holes....this thing is leaking like its missing a bolt in a oil hole or something...not just as in a driping gasket...any ideas?

-Don't forget to check all the oil seals ie: crank shaft, oil pump, also there's a O ring seal (rear balance shaft) behind the cover above the oil pump.

Usually this is someone who forgot to blank the unused Front Balance Shaft tensioner Bolt hole with a short Bolt, Washer & RTV - OR - forgot to replace the little sleeve behing the Cog on the unused Front Balance Shaft or plug the hole properly - You also should have sealant on the Tensioner Bolts. Quite obviously one should repalce EVERY old Oil Seal on the Front Case while you had it off - these motors are old!

WE FIGURED IT OUT!!!!!....it was that little weird screw that u need a special socket for....we tried to glue an icehouse cap in there....i dunno if some of youall remember my thread...on "engine buildup has began".....anyway...we started working on it at noon...ended up puttin it together and taking it apart 3 times....by 4 am we had that shit running with no oil leaks....yes 16 hours straight....only a 5 min lunch break....we drove it and that shit hauls like nothin i have ever seen.... :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
