for some reason...my car all of a sudden wont run because im getting more fuel than i could ever imagine. i tried replacing everything but the fuel pump and injectors. i just put a walbore 190 in a month or so ago. i posted a thread last week about in not running, but its something with the fuel for sure. its gets SOO much and i dont know why, it wont even let it run cuz it floods it. it shout of on me a few times before whil driving and didnty know why, thought it was eklectrical, but it did it again and now it will not atrat. it tries too, but soon gets choked out by gas. any ideas why?? i have spark, so thats not the prob.

hit me up on AIM if u have any ideas or need more info

ECU is dead - probably the Caps or the little Injector deals - Very common for them to Flood CRANKCASE with Gas when ECU dies - BEWARE - you can bend a rod trying to compress gas - I did it! OMG Good time to install new Alt & make sure you have no PS leaks - very hard on ECU's...

well..i replaced the caps a wile back, the ecu looked fine when i took it out yesterday. what are the odds i bent my rods? would i know if i tried cranking it over. my compression is 160 across all 4 as of yesterday...

The second thing that goes in the ECU is the Injector firing "solenoids" - there's a link on that somewhere I'll try & find - may have even been thru the VFAQ, saw it yesterday trying to figure out if my bastard 90 has the right bastard ECU in it,,, - Obviously 160 is great so be CAREFUL & don't kill it!!!! Just keep a close eye on your Oil level - If it's like mine you can VERY quickly get like 8 quarts of oil/gas in your Crankcase!

ya..that happened to me, but before i drove it again, i changed the oil. it ran for a few seconds, but before i actually drove it i changed the oil. so u think im ok?

I actually think I bent it with the Starter! You sure as hell don't have a bent rod with 160 - but 160 doesn't mean your ECU Injector firing Solenoids aren't cooked & WFO - Be CAREFUL! I changed my Oil about 3 times before my dumbass figured out it was the ECU. :shhh:

would the ECU look bad..liek when the caps leak, u can see it, would u be able to tell if the firing solenoids were bad just by looking at them?

Dammit I'm failing miserably re-finding the site I saw yesterday - Can't believe I didn't save it - Talked all about ECU's & the first 3 things that die w/pix, Caps, Solenoids & some kinda ground ...

can this happen to a 2g ECU??

My 98 has a serious tuning problem.

Problems)

1. it WILL NOT run cold unless I hold it at 1,000 rpms till the temp guage raises..
2. when driving at a steady speed and flat ground the car will go lean (A/F Gauge and you feel the front dive where it lost power.
3. when it hits 4k rpms it starts BLOWING black smoke like it is running rich as hell, but it still has power (AFC has been knocked down to -50% and it still happens).
4. last night when driving home it started missing really badthe A/F gauge was solid between full leam and full rich. But if I let is coast for a few seconds it would get power back, but then happen again in about 30 seconds. when it was running smotth when I would raise the rpms it would start missing again at 4k+ rpms.
5. most of the time when I start the car the battery light and brake light will stay on until I rev the motor to 3,000 rpms then it will not come back on. Voltage is charging fine (AFC 2)

UPDATE>>>>> i took out the ecu and carefully looked at it. on the ecu, there are 2 green boxes and 2 more green boxes with a gap in between them. in that gap there is a small black chip and 4 blue "relay" looking things. i looked at the back side of the motherboard directly under these 4 blue things and the motherboard was brown...toasted. i think that is my problem. ill be swapping a new one in today to see if it fixes it.
