Electric Boost Gauge Reading Wrong?!

I have an Autometer Cobalt boost gauge it is electric by the way, on start it reads zero, then once I get going and let off my ledal it drops to about 10vac and some times will creep up to 20psi under WOT but does settle down. That is what it does, now my question is this, shouldn't I be reading 10vac at idle? Is it just the electric gauge that doesn't read 100%? Just wondering, thanks guys.
 
Yea regular idle should be around 17-20. Do you have the stock turbo cause you shouldn't be creeping with the t25.
 
Yeah the only things I have done to the car are an Injen intake, and the 1g BOV. I have heard from some others with the autometer cobalt that they read at 0 when at idle as well, maybe it is just the gauge, and with my stock BOV I used to creep alittle but it would settle down to about 15. Guess a boost controller is in my future.
 
Oh one more thing, I am not running lean or anything at WOT I am reading about .92 on the apexi, also the air/fuel autometer gauge reads rich....could the boost gauge just be way off?
 
The boost gauge should be mechanical. In other words you have a hose connected to the back that reads the vacuum and boost. Even $500 "electronic" boost gauges get their signal mechanically.
 
The line does not go to the back of the gauge it goes to a remote part that then has wires coming from it to the gauge. I re ran the car and it does seem to run right (rich) at WOT, so I am not sure that it is really running to 20psi, I am pretty sure my gauge is off....ah well time for a manual boost controller I guess.
