Hey. Whats up? I have a 90 TSi AWD I was driving it today and it suddenly started to drive very sluggish. I pulled the plugs on Cylinders 1,4 and they were not firing. The Tach on the dash is reading half of what it should read (the SAFC still reads the correct RPM). I changed the ignition coils thinking one was dead. That did not help. I tried tracing the wires back and cant seem to get a signal to the inoperative ignition coil. I have a MSD box in the car. Would a bad MSD box cause one ign. coil not to work? Also there is a box setup for dual ignitions from the MSD box. I looked at a wiring diagram and there are 2 wires from the Ignition module that run to both coils. Maybe the ignition module is not giving power to the bad coil? Also does anyone know if you can bypass the MSD box (its an MSD DIS-2) to see if that works? Anyway. Any help would be great.
