hey guys,
my talon tsi w/120,500 miles on it is hesitating when i run it within the vacumm. When i boost it doesnt hesitate and it pulls ok. The hesitation tends to go away when the temp gauge is vertical but when i first start it and up to that point, it has no power and lots of hesitation/sputtering. I need to boost alittle just to pull through the intersection from a stop. I usesd seafoam throught the bov vac line and it helped with the idle but not with this. The wires and sparks were changed less than a year ago so i dont think its them plus under boost its fine.
Any suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks,
David

Have you done any mods lately?? injectors??? My car did the same thing it was running extremely rich at idle and low speeds but once i started getting more air it was fine. Sounds like you are rich to me but i'm thrown on it going away when your temp is up, so it may be something else.

im taking off the TB to clean and to test the ISC properly, when removing the throttle cable, do i need to release the gas pressure and etc. like the Chilton says or can i just take it off? i dont really want to put every thing else back together so i can start the car- to releave the pressure, so input will save me time.
Thanks in advance,
David

Do you guys just jump out of bed and race out the door full throttle or do you have to take alittle time in the morning to wake up, mabey have a cup of coffee, a bagle. Some time to just warm up to the day? This is your problem you HAVE TO let the car warm up before running down the block! The problem you are having is commonly refered to as the choke cycle. Now I know your thinking "gee my car is fuel injected, it dosnt have a choke" WRONG! all cars have a choke cycle that they run through until the motor is warmed up. Let it work. then you can mash it . Try that then tell me what its doing wrong.

im not mashing the throttle right out of the driveway, im bearly pushing the gas. i know about letting these cars warm up, but before it never hesitated this much, maybe in the dead of winter but not now during 70 degree weather. there was noticalby more power before at low throttle.
