I just noticed today that while driving my car at low speeds I hear a loud knocking sound coming from the rear end. It gets gradually faster as the car accelerates. ANd slows donw when letting off gas and slowing down, but stopping when pressing on brakes.

In reference to sound, it almost sounds like a cue ball knocking on a pool table getting gradually faster.

So im assuming since the sound quits when touching brakes, it has to be related to brakes, but i doubt its warpage of the rotor to actually be audible that loud when just driving.

Any help?

I took mine to get it looked at and i was told it's a bad strut but whatever it is it's consistant. It seems to knock once every rotation so i don't see how a strut would be that consistant. But that's what i was told.

I had a parking brake shoe spring come loose (inside the rear rotor drum) that allowed the shoes to move abnormally and made that exact loud noise (shoes were also too loose due to wear and needed adjustment). Does applying the parking brake change the noise any?
