Some of you may be familiar with my current swap, like Paxin and others, and I'm still not finished.
Today some parts I ordered just came in. Most namely, the power transistor box replacement. Mine had gone bad, giving my car (still on jacks) very poor idle, and what I thought to be lagged throttle response. So, soon as she came today, I swapped the power transistor units, and fired her up.
She purred, and she purred steady. And I would have been excited, but I noticed that my guages are still non-functioning. None of them work, except gas and boost.
So, I shrug my shoulders and give her some gas, and there was this huge hesitation the moment I depressed the accelerator. I tried it several times, but backed off because I thought my car would die. But then I went at it again, just to see if she actually would die, and to my surprise, after the hesitation, she got her power back. I felt and heard the revolutions shoot up as I'd expect them too, and it sounded beautiful. But the hesitation is still there, every time.
So my problems right now are:
- None of my guages work, except gas and boost.
- Hesitation when gas pedal is first depressed.
My car is a 1990 TSi AWD with a 91+ JDM motor, including the cyclone. I'm still playing with the solenoids to get them all right, but they should not be causing these problems. I swapped out the CAS, Throttle Body, Thermostat elbow, Coil Pack, and Power Transistor Box (twice).
I'm leaning toward a faulty Throttle Body, because it had been outside for several months under a tarp, during winter (go me). Any ideas? The guage thing has me at a complete loss.
