another boost prob HELP please$$$

ok so iam not sure if its a boost prob or what but i have a 92 talon awd turbo 5spd so when i am driveing i can only boost to about 7psi and it stubles and back fires and thats at arond 3000rpms or a lil more also when the car is just sitting there it revs fine my maf senser is bad so i unpluged it still did it and then i pluged it back in and it still does it it does this in every gear my car is stock but i have a 2.5 inc down pipe and 3' d/p back with no cat i am also missing 2 exust manifold bolts and smoke comes out of it sometimes if that helps if you can e mail me with what you think it is thats better dont know when i can get back to tuners also 20$ to the first pearson that tells me whats wrong :thumb:

Get a new sensor before anything, if you know for sure it's bad. Shouldn't be more than $20 at a decent junk yard (make sure you get if from a car that had the hood closed while sitting in the junk yard). Otherwise, it's a dealer or eBay item.

Your exaust is too big as well, put a cat in it at least.
 
ok i am going to call around to find one(maf) TalonBoy90TSI told me the same thing about 1hr or 2 ago so i am thinking that is it. i plane on doing alot more mods to my car so i will need the exust to stay like it is + seting off car alrams is starting to get fun :thumb: LOL any more help would be great thanks




o hear is another ? i put a 1990 trany in my 92 and i had to adjust my shift cable
(side to side ) to get 5th and rev but its still hard to get it in should i put the 90 shift cables in as well i left the 92 bracket on that bolts to the trany and holds the cables there it is also hard to shift i test drove a non turbo and it was like butter to shift i also have an act 2100 clutch could this be why or do i need to rebulid my shifter

also when i say it was like butter to shift i mean i could pull it back to 2nd with one finger

90 and 92 shifter cables AND the entire shifter assembly are different. It would help (and possibly save your transmission) if you replace your 92 cables and shifter with 92.
 
i have the 92 cables on it and the 92 shifter i found another thread about ti and every one said change the braket on the trany that holds it there but i called and around and the only junk yard that has a maf they wanted 125 $ for it so i am going to cheack e bay

Dude, learn how to use the shift key, periods at the end of sentences, commas and question marks. It's hard to understand what you type, I had to read your posts few times. That's why no one else is replying.
 
sorry about that . any way i have the 92 shift cables my car is a 92 . do i need the 90 cables and shifter thats what yr the trany is . is it hard to put the cables in ?
 
update i got a new maf and new bov and some smic hoses helped alot i mean alot but it still does it i also tightned the t/b bolt down but they wont tighten as tight i i want them to they kinda just come lose could i be leaking boost from there also i can boost up to about 12+ psi with no back fire or anything but when i realy get on it it will back fire
