alternator rubbing the powersteering pump.

Wow..I was driving my car today and it was running normal like always but when i pulled up to a stop light i noticed some smoke from thedriver side of the hood. I got home and looked under the hood and saw it was smoking from the power steering pump area. i then looked around and found out that the alternator is rubbing against the powersteering pump. I was now wondering if any one has heard of this or if any one could help me figure out away to fix it?

Your altenator needs to be adjusted then tightened, it should not rub. I am suprised your belt is still on at all.

check your crankpulley to make sure it is not seperating.
