ok, ive been searching the forums and couldnt find anything about this particular problem i have. i know many ppl have engine smoking problems, but it always seems to be connected to the exhaust. My problem is that when i get home from driving , i sometimes notice some smoke coming from under my hood, and the smoke is VERY visible when ive been driving the car "hard" (i dont even drive the car for long). anyways, i also notice a horrible smell, i THINK its an oil burning smell, but when i checked my tail pipe there is no smoke, and it doesnt smell funny. also i dont know if this is normal but there is black soot stuff on my bumper when i wash my car, from the exhaust.
SO, my engine bay is smoking, particularily after i drive my car hard, but it ALSO smokes if i get into the car for the first time and rev it up to about 5000-5500 RPM. the smoke is coming from the right side behind the engine block on drivers side (looking at the car) and continues to come out every now and then when car is idling after ive driven it hard. my car has burned oil before but we got that fixed. also, my car used to drop oil but i think its stopped, since ive put in a new quart of oil (about 2-3 months since we got oil changed, 1500ish miles til i had to fill it up).
Im also wondering if the fact my engine was rebuilt (using a 96 4G63 Eclipse Engine block) with my old components(the guy we bought it from said he found damage on engine block so he offered to rebuild it for us) might have something to do with the smoke. In addition, the belts "squeal" a little at high rpms, then stop as i had the car on for a while, so we used belt dressing 2 days ago, but now it will squeal even at like 3000 RPMs , but when i rev it back up right after , it squeals at like 3500, then 4000, then 4000ish again, then stops completely.
i know ive posted so much but while im getting this problem resolved i might as well ask about my other problem, yes, ANOTHER problem  . when im accelerating (floored), i can feel the pedal vibrate. i dont notice it in first gear, but in 2nd and 3rd its very obvious, however not so much in 2nd gear as in 3rd. The vibration isnt really a vibration at all, but its more like some someone jabbing a stick against the pedal repeatedly, not hard jabs but enough to feel it. BTW this vibrating only happens after about 5000 RPMs when floored.
this car has had a few problems since we got it , but over all im still happy with it, its been problem free for a while now and would hate to have my dad pay to have it fixed again :(
Thanks in advance and if this is a repeated question im sorry, but ive been browsing for a while for a problem thats very similiar but i couldnt, so i posted my first question, then just happened to ask the others while im here :p

i think ive figured out the problem... ok, so i was saying i have a 96 engine block, and i had belt squeal and smoke, the problem was that the belt that was on the A/C pulley, was made for a 98, and is about 2 inches longer than the belt that should be on the 96 eclipse. So the belt was slipping constantly and squealing every now and then, i think the slippage caused the belt to burn the rubber and cause the smoke at high RPMs. this fixed the belt squeal, engine smoke, but as far as pedal vibration, im not sure, i think its gone but i havent had a chance to accelerate much in 3rd, might need to take it out for a spin later tonight :D
