Hey...I just bought a 95talon tsi 2 weeks ago and this is my 1st DSM...I owned a saturn b4 this LOL... well its got a rebuilt 1g 6bolt...EVERYTIME i start the car it squeals soooo loud, like hurt your ears loud...And lately whenever i go from 1 to 2 gear it squeals like crazy and not only is it embarresing but its annoying too...Anyone know whats causing it or what i can do to stop it...the belts are all new

Most likely the alternator/water pump access belt is loose, crack the swivel nut loose on the alternator and tighten up the tensioner on the alt. Then retighten the nut on the swivel and go, mine does this occasionally i know how ya feel

Usual culprit is the PS pump belt, it has to be even tighter than what you fell comfortable with--keep tightening until noise goes away & remember if it breaks it's not mission critical anyway.

Hey I'm having a similiar problem and when I checked it out it seems that I'm missing the actual adjuster bolt for the alternator. I've got the one thats facing the side of the car and holds the alternator down, but I was missing the adjusting one. I got a new one from City Garage for free but I'm not sure if it fits.. its eiter the wrong size or I'm putting it in at the wrong angle. Could anyone post a picture of their alternator or explain how it sits in there? I've got no reference to go by because I bought it like this. The piece of metal on the bolt I have can swivel a few different ways so I'm not sure which is right, and the bolt I just got isn't seeming to thread right. I have a 97 GST.

Thanks
