Well, Im just about done with my car, today my new wheels finally came, i installed em, did a few things, started the car up and took it for its first drive on the new wheels/tires. the very first right i had to make, i flicked my blinker control and it was blinking (the inside green arrow) way too fast.. i made the right, pulled over and checked my lights. What i saw was when i put the Left blinker on, it works perfectly, both front and rear lights light up at normal rate.... when i put the Right blinker on, the cockpit arrow blinks 2-3 times faster, and outside, the front does not work at all, and the rear light blinks, but only the far right side of it, almost only on the corner of the car. did i blow the fuse? i dont see how this could have happened, everything was working fine 2 weeks ago when i was driving my car, and now that it has sat for 2 weeks, it doesnt work? please help.

nono, ALL my lights work. one half of the right rear doesnt blink and the whole entire front right lights dont blink but they all light up when my lights are turned on.

Sounds like a short maybe? My DD laser has a rock hole in the front lite and sometimes when I wash the car (not very often ha) it gets shorted and still works but blinks really fast. Ive also known every 1st gen that I have to have bad connectors for the blunker bulbs from the harness. Ive taken almost all of the headlight assemblies I have apart and fixed the wires. Your best bet would be to get a voltmeter I suppose and trace the wire back as far as you can see to try and figure out where the short is.

wow u guys are way off. It just means one of ur bulbs is low/burned out. Replace the bulbs and they will be back to normal. However, some like the faster blink.

i was referring to all the chatter about how many bulbs an eclipse has.. Who cares? just buy however much u need.

your wrong, the bulbs DO work. i think its a short like that one guy on here said it was. still cant find it but i will soon hopefully..

left blinker: blink...blink....blink...blink
right blinker: blink.blink.blink.blink

Yeah just go to autozone and spend $7 on new bulbs and that should fix it. Does anyone know how to MAKE them blink fast? I love really faster blinkers.

Sounds like you have a bulb in backward, and you're trying to run a running light filament as a blinker filament. The tits on the sides are stepped, make sure you have them in their sockets the right way. Turn on your parking lights, look for the one that's three times brighter than the rest, and install that bulb back in 180° out from how it is now.

I had a similar problem many years ago with a Toyota I owned. Sometimes they wouldn't flash at all, other times they flashed perfectly but most of time they flashed way too fast. I took it to two shops (my usual mechanic and then an auto electric guy that my mechanic suggested). No one could figure it out. One day I was reading an article about a guy with the same problem. Turns out that he had put a replacement bulb with the wrong wattage and/or voltage in. Screwed up his blinker timing. Checked my car and sure enough, the guy I bought my car from had done the same thing. Replaced all the lamps (for good measure) with the correct lamps and never had the problem again. Just a suggestion.....

Sounds like one of the filaments in the front bulb is out like someone already said. I've also had a problem with grounds on my '91 Tsi. This, too, was on the front. It was where the wire goes into the bulb socket itself. I cleaned up the connectors and used dielectric grease on there and haven't had a problem since. They just corroded after a while.
