When I turn the car on in the morning on pretty cold starts, you can hear a whooshing/spinning sound. When you push clutch in, the sound goes away. When you let the clutch pedal out, the sound comes back. What is it? :dsm:

They go down just a verrrrry little bit. Nothing noticeable, but you can see the needle move down a bit.

well if you had a 2g i would say Crankwalk. You could have a 7 bolt in there though, but the 2g 7 bolts are more prone to walk. After June of 92 is when they switched to 7 bolt

Car: 92 Eclipse GST

I have a 6 bolt 1g. No crank walk for me. What could be wrong with the to bearing. somone else also mentioned it. What kinda sound would it make?

A crankwalking motor makes a whooshing noise upon startup(that is a serious question)? I would guess throw out bearing also. It doesnt make a whooshing noise but more of a rattling noise. Not sure what else it could be be though. Good luck!

Same issue here,

Thats what i figured but its been about 30K with my ACT 2600.
