Hey guys....I already tried searching for an answer, but couldn't find what I was looking for. I'm driving a 95 gs, automatic transmition. My dad and I just recently changed the timing belt, the alternator and power steering belts, and the water pump. Things seemed fine at first, but then I began to hear a loud screeching noise when I turned the steering wheel to the extreme....I looked at the pulleys as the steering wheel was being turned, and noticed the top pulley was sticking or stopping momentarily you could say. The power steering belt has popped off 3 or 4 times so far, usually while I am executing a turn. My dad said the pulley seems to be fine...turns freely and there doesn't appear to be anything hitting it. I was wondering if the problem might have something to do with the crankshaft pulley (I believe that's what it's called) being out of alignment....since we had to remove it when changing the timing belt. But I honestly have no idea. My dad thinks it could have something to do with the power steering pump. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. As you can probably tell....I am still learning about cars, and don't know much, so please bear with me....I hoped I explained it well enough to get some ideas.
Thanks Guys!
Alicia
