First of all, this isnt my car.. hehe.. this is my friends.

He bought this 92 talon yesterday, and when he was driving it to the parking area near our building, he Got into it with a hatchback. I told him to go easy on it.. but he didnt listen.. Anyway, here is his story.

He was running the hatch, and went from 3 tried to go into 4th, but missed and went into 2nd.. He said he was in 2nd for only a fraction of a second, and didnt hit redline. And the next thing he knows, the A/C belt shredded off.. and then he notices no oil pressure.. I havent looked at the car yet, so i cant tell whats really wrong with it.

But the oil pump is connected to the T belt correct? and a 3-2 gear change wouldnt cause a oil pump to go out would it? But, thats why im here, im stumped, any input? thanks!


Oh, and how can we get that thing to pass smog? ROFL...

Yes Oil Pump is connected to T/Belt.

Actually a vicious 3 to 2 Gear Change could do all kindsa stuff...

I take it it still runs for you to get this "zero" oil pressure reading?

Is the Idiot Light on if & when it runs?

& I'd just move out of California if I were you... OMG
 
If the t-belt is still together and the car is running then the AC belt probably came off and hit the sending unit on the filter housing. I know mine has come off just from driving so a hit from the exploding belt could very well be the problem.

If the car is not running then the AC belt could have been sucked behind the crank pulley and into the t-belt(seen it happen).
 
i havent seen the car yet.. so i couldnt tell you if the E light was on or not..

but im assuming it still runs, since he said he drove it to a safe spot..
 
I'm with 91, probably tossed off the sender wire. However, I'll also bet his harmonic balancer is blown, which is what took out the AC belt.

Won't really matter, he'll total the car later this month anyway.
 
I'll give his no drivin' sumbitch ass a week :laugh: Crazy bastards probably out kickin hatchback ass tonite with "zero" Oil Pressure....

well, i saw the car.. the wire is connected.. and i couldnt find anything wrong with it...

But he decide to take it for a spin, and we went a good 10 miles and nothing happened, LOL... so im geussing its just a messed up sensor.
