yeah i read all the reports on this awesome problem but when everyone talks about when theire crank "walked" what does it it actually do? does your engines fail when it wwalks or seizes up? also how can you check for crank walk do i have to pull the engine to check it. or can i get a gauge in there and check it like that?

yeah i read that i know what sounds it makes and stuff, but it doesnt tell how you can check it for how amny thousandths its off. it also doesnt say what happens to the car when it finally walks. it says that the angle sensor fails but does the car shut off it doesnt tell anything about that.

Well when the crank walks, the engine is shot = car wont start. You need a new block, but you can use the head still. When the crank angle sensor (CAS) fails, its because of the crank moving around. You have to drop the oil pan to check the movement, im not sure what the procedure is to check the crank play, I think you need a feeler gauge (dont quote me on that). Anyway dont worry about it all the time, if it happens, it happens! So for $1000 (or less, Ive seen a few for $800) you drop in a JDM 6-bolt (6bolts are stronger and dont CW) and your good to go!
