when im pulling hard in whatever gear up to 6k, as soon as the tach shows 6k rpm I have a total loss of power. I've logged it and I see that my injectors cut out above 6k. The pulse width goes from 20-22ms to 1-2ms. is this some sort of fuel cut or something? whats going on?

92 talon awd
2.5 downpipe
k&n filter
rewired fuel pump
shitty idle (ISC motor i guess)

low trim: 92%
middle trim: 100%
high trim: 95%

o2 sensor reads all over the place until i go wot then it's consistent .8-.88 then obviously it drops with the injector pw. bad o2 sensor? running a bit lean?

help a new guy out

i think i am having the same problem car is running fine under normal driving but when i get on it around 5500 it falls on its face like it has no power , the rpms dont go down they just dont go up ...is this the same kind of problem ?? i cahnged the spark plug wires with no change ... if you figure this out before me please post the solution ...

I read about something similar to this here....
http://www.roadraceengineering.com/projectEclipse.htm

Here is an excerpt:

"We once again succeeded in improving mid-range output, with another incremental gain at the high end. But at last, we found why top end power had been so elusive. While he was tuning the fuel computer Mike Welch noticed that as he data-logged speed and rpm, the two would increase at the same rate (as they should) through the middle of the rev range, but at high rpm the engine would start accelerating faster than the car! There was only one answer: The stock clutch was being overwhelmed at high engine speeds when the turbo was at full song. The fix came in the form of a three-puck Exedy clutch.

It doesn't directly account for the injector PW reduction...unless the computer is somehow cutting fuel as a result of the growing engine speed relative to wheel speed....
Anyway it may help some people who hit this thread...

Ok i figured out my problem and maybe it will be the same for you ... i was losing alot of power at around 5k .i changed wires , spark plugs , coil pack etc etc ..., Then i checked my timing !!!!! Wow way off . My timing belt had jumped time for some reason .when i took it apart come to find that my balance shaft belt had broke and in the process caused my timing belt to jump 2 teeth .... my car is back to its normal self now !!! :thumb:
