New to this car. No mods yet. 101k well maintained miles. @nd gear has a scrapping sound. Disengage clutch it goes away. worse at light throttle. maybe a touc in 5th. Is there something common to look for? My mechanc will not touch t and finding qualified honest help is difficult. i needsome info to take with me to another shop. I know this is vague but t is all I have. Fluid is clean. Thanks, Mark
PS I used to own a conquest and this engine is amazing!

So, when you have the clutch IN in 2nd gear it makes a scraping sound? More details maybe?

^Yes, most noticeable in 2nd but some in others. Definitly a bearing going bad. With the tranverse position of the trannt I am wondering if it could be the output shaft from the transfer case. i know sounds can travel but it seems to be right below the shifter. as stated in the original the tranny fluid is clean. '93AWD. Thanks, mark
