leaking oil with new gasket

heres the deal, I have a 1.8 SOHC i replaced the oil pan gasket with a new one twice and it still leaks oil, i thought it might be the main seals but the oil is gushing out around the sides. the sealent i used is SUPER "300" FORM-A-GASKET SEALANT its a brush on type stuff. the engine is stock no mods. did i do something wrong please help this is getting on my nerves. thanks

how long before putting oil in did you let the sealent dry??

1 and a half days? hours? what.....you sure your pan isnt bent or warped bad?...and did you completely clean the old gasket off the pan and block?...i just redid mine on my 93 turbo motor and used some ultra grey rtv stuff i got from advaced and it works fine.

also, is it leaking from where the bolts go in? i dip my the shafts of the bolts all in rtv before i put them in to make sure it seals.

and another thing, then you made the gasket, did you lay the bead of rtv on the inside or outside of the bolts holes? because you are suppose to lay the bead on the inside of the holes to seal them off.

yes, i cleaned the gasket completely from both block and pan, the pan seems to be pretty good. it looks like its coming out the sides, i use a brush on type i basicly put a layer of sealent on the pan and the block and samiched the gasket between the two i put a layer of sealent on both sides of the holes. I may try rtv sealent instead of the brush on stuff, with a new pan. thanks

yea, sounds like the pan might have a slight bent in it.....wait a full 24 hours before putting oil in and running it when using RTV
