I had a mechanic replace my timing belts now over 3000 rpm my car vibrates horribly.. I can hear my exhaust vibrating under me.. Also when I picked up the car it started got home to call him about the vibration told me to bring it back, went to start everything powered up execpt no power to starter.. He's telling me my starter might be bad I think it has something to do with his work.. Can this be related in any way?.. What did he not do to make the car run so horribly.. He also replaced the water pump which is the only reason for all this work in the first place.. Any advice I've allmost had it with all this crap...

Thanks for the reply, now he's telling me it just needs to be timmed better.. Whatever that means if the frikin belt is not even on right.... Thanks again for the reply.. Sorry to sound stupid but what does bs stand for so I can relay this info to him...

OK picked it up today same problem.. Took him for a drive so I can let him hear what Im hearing.. He says it my exhaust system rattling.. Tells me to go to a muffler shop and have it redone... NOT.. I call Mitsubishi and start to explain my problem before I even get done they say it's the balance shaft... Went down there let him hear it for himself, again he confirms.. Puts it in writting.. I take it back to the mechanic, and give him the option to fix it right, or I'll have Mitsu fix it for 351.00 and send him the bill.. He still claims the frigging exhaust is loose... So I said I guess you wont be able to fix it then, I'll go to option #2.. He baulks and says let me look at it again tommorow. Fine I say this is your last chance before the shit hits the fan, good luck to you...

I'll report back tommorow, to see what rabbit he tries to pull out next...

Did you ever get it worked out, or did you end up taking it to Mitsu? Just curious since I'm going to have to convince a shop they did the same thing to mine. I did the screwdriver check, so that's my evidence. Thanks,

Yea I took it to mitsu and they gave me a statement in writting that it was indeed my balace shaft... Took that to my mechanic, he went through the install again, couldnt find what he did wrong so Mitsu faxed him over ten pages of proper install info.. Figured out he didnt have the the screw driver part in his manual.. So he fixed it for free of course, but what a pain... Runnin great ever since...
