Jerking of car!

Yeah, I have a '97 Eclipse GS 5-Speed and generally when I give it gas it seems to kick a little. Kind of like something is slipping and gripping again...does anyone know what that could be?

kicks when you switch gears or just gas. just want to make sure before i say something

maybe a fuel filter too.

Yeah, well, I just got it on the road today. It has been sitting for like a month and a half before that, I took it out drove it around for several hours and it doesn't seem to do it anymore. So I guess I just needed to get it out....but yeah, a filter does not sound like a bad idea.
