hey guys. just need to find out what is wrong with my car. the prob is that im getting boost and i can hear the turbo working but it feels like my car is not moving any faster. there is no extra go. i just got done having the head rebuilt and the only mods i got done are the free ones. i have only had my car for about two weeks now. and my check engine light comes on. dont know whats up with that. n e help would be greatly appreciated. i am craving the power of boost and im so close yet so far.

a few things.

check your base timing.
and the physical timing.

then cleck for boost leaks.

if you have a logger check for knock.

if too much knock occurs the ecu will change timing and less power.

thanx for the info guys. i think i found what it was. my crank/cam sensor was off. when i put the sensor back on i just put it on and turned it all the way to the left. i started my car yesterday and moved the sensor a little bit to the right and bam. i took it for a test drive and the boost put me back in my seat just like i was hoping. n e wayz i think its fixed.

its not fixed yet.

you may have it close, but unless your lucky as hell, ( go buy me a powerball tickit) its not dead on.

set your base ignition timing. to get it perfect.

Yea lordpaxin is right, there is no way (well except if your really lucky) thats its dead on. Set the base timing and you might feel even more powah!!! :thumb:

stupid question? the base timing is the cam sensor right? the one that im adjusting. how do i know if the base timing is right.let me know.

I dont have a DSM, but 5 degrees is what its supposed to be at, I think you would change it for really advanced tuning. Just set it to 5 thats what stock is.

Your ECU is sensing knock, pulling your timing, and still giving you boost. Do your lifters tick badly?

I had mine tick badly, and it would do the same thing. Changed out to 3G lifters, and problem fixed. Check that out.

Base timing is always 5. Unless you are a hardcore racer, then you can change it. Only change it when you know what you're what you're doing. Otherwise, set it at 5.
