This may sound like a stupid question, give me a sec to get to it.
I had my timing belt off today when i was wrenching on my car, and was observing the timing belt to make sure everything was in good order. Then i revved up the engine and the belt seemed to flex, or vibrate slightly. Not enough to jump teeth or anything just enough to make me take notice.
I changed the timing belt about 8 or so months ago and then i parked the car in a garage for other repairs for about 8 or 9 months. The car runs better than most new cars i ve seen and the engine barely vibrates during idle, you can barely notice it running for the exception of the timing belt whine.
Now to my question, is this flex normal? I torqued everything to spec and followed a chilton, haynes, and online manual to get the best of all worlds. The car runs great i just have never seen the timing belt in action-should i worry that its not tight enough? Any input would be great
