bad starter??

My car has been making a funny noise when i start it up.

This only happens when the car is warmed up and has been driven, never on cold starts.

well when you start it up.....it makes a weird chatter type cracking noise. The car runs fine and i never hear it, only when i start it.

now a couple weeks ago when we upgraded my fuel pump, we blew my ignition fuse. i replaced it, and when we started the car up....no noise whatsoever (the car was hot too). For about a week or so the car started with no noise, even when driving it for a long time. THen after about a week the noise started to come back on hot starts.

Only thing i can think of it being is the starter, but other opinions will help, and why did the noise go away when i replaced the ignition fuse?

Sounds just like what mine does when I've had to replace the starter twice. Its went away for a year or so after I changed it but then it came back.
