I have idle surge and went to check ISC motor.

I have 2 ISC and one shows 29ohm resistance and the other 30ohms when cold.

To see if the plunger is working, had my gf turn the key on and off as I checked movement of ISC.

They both vibrate a little, but they do move in and out. A link read that the plunger should move in and out "smoothly". Mine vibrates a little, but does rotate and then move in and out,..Although not smoothly as per idle surge link..

Does this mean my ISC is dead?

Anyone know if my ISC is ok or not,..It moves and turns in and out but not "smoothly" but with some vibration when power is supplied,..

According to FAQ on Idle surge, ISC is supposed to be smooth. I have 2 ISC that check out at 29-30ohms when cold and both vibrate when power applied,..

Im sure others have had to check their ISCs for this. Im not the only one with idle surge,..

thanks
Kevin

I would like to know this as well. I did the same test, and mine just vibrates, and moves an almost unnoticeable amount up and down. Is this a bad ISC?
