20PSI on stock fuel? wtf, bad right?

Hi, i just took the talon out for a spin, with the jdm kn filter and 3 inch exhaust.

it pulls hard to 10 psi, then PUlls even harder to 15 psi then once it hits 16 psi, its an instant jump to 20 psi, and the thing feels like its gonna jump up and start throwing wheels it pulls so hard.


wtf?

this aint right with stock boost control
and stock fuel.

i know its not safe either, unless its knocking so much th ecu is cutting timing at the uper PSI.

and idea?
i got a190 lph on the way

That's a nasty creep... I had to port the shit out of my O2 housing and exhaust manifold after I started creeping like that...then my car died. I'm pretty sure its because of the full 3" exhaust that the creep developed so I started grinding away. I didn't go for the flapper mod since I'm still on the 14b but I think the porting is going to do the trick. If you are going to yank the mani and the O2 housing for porting then you might as well port the turbo at the same time. (do you have O2 eliminated?) Go 7mm, open up the wastegate passage a bit, you should be good to go. BTW-if you haven't done it before, porting is fairly easy with a die grinder or super dremel and a carbide bit.

my plans are for a 2g exh mani and tubular 02 over the summer.

and a turbo later on.


can i just watch the boost and not let it creep past 15.

Well, well, well I see the old beast is running, but if I my suggest using a O2 dump tube to eliminate the boost creep, to bad my car isn't running or I coould let you hear what you are missing, and yes the EBC will hold boost, but you might want to try a MBC first.

if its creeping then a ebc wont work any better then a mbc. Your flowing more then the waste gate can handle. If you creep to 20 you can set a mbc or ebc to 12 psi but as your rpms go up so will your boost.
