two possibly related problems

First of all, the heater seems to get hot fine. But when I change it to cool air it stays hot even when it's 30 degrees outside! The second problem, which may very well be related, is that the defroster does not work AT ALL. My windows fog like crazy and I cannot get the moisture off the windows without a paper towel! I'm assuming something is leaking, causing the incomming air to gain some sort of moisture. Any thoughts? Thanks

it kinds sounds like one of your vent doors arent functioning right on the heating system. Or it could be the soliniods went bad for the doors. the idea is just a place to start.

second thought, Have you ran your ac system when it has been warm out? did it work correctly when you used it?

the AC isnt in working condition at the moment

ok, I'm almost positive it's coolant that is comming through the vents.
any ideas as the what the problem is and how I can fix it?

Solenoids? You mean, the WIRES?

No solenoids. All mechanical.

Get under there and find what wire fell off.

here is a picture showing how the air system works. if its not getting air to the front windshield but to the rest of the car my first place to look would be the heater door. and for the moisture problem, it should be around 40-45% humidity , check the evaporator, there could be something blocking it or when the guy reinstalled the heater core, removed the evaporator, or some how made a way for the air to flow past it with out going through it. here are some pictures

Very nice pics. The coolant being in the airstream inside the car is a sure sign that the heater core is leaking (some small ammount).
