ok,ive had a problem with my car for a couple of days now,and it just got worse today and had to tow my car.

When i turn my car on,it runs fine for about 10-15 seconds,i trn my cd player on and everything dims..turbo timer turns on and off and then the tachometer starts wiggin out and then the car dies.what would this be?

Im guessing battery, but i also think it may be vacuum of some kind since it surges at idle SOMETIMES..also,on cold starts the engine revs to 2000 instead of normal idle,what would this problem be?

but does it start right up every other time? if so, your battery is fine, but your alternator may be ready to go... do a volts and amps test, autozone does it for free, but most likely sounds like you'll need to replace it since the voltage regulator in the alternator may be bad...

My buddy has a 95 GS-T also. His car had a similiar problem, while he was driving his amps were shutting down and all his lights would dim especially if the car was just at idle. He replaced his alternator and the problem went away, several weeks later the dimming and idle problems all started over again. His subs were maxing out his alternator and killing it. I say replace your alternator, well pull it atleast, and like he said have it tested, they do it for free at a lot of autoparts stores. good luck.

i appreciate the help..did a test and my alternator is completely gone .so i ordered me a new one today so hopefully this will do the trick.again,thanks for the replys.Shawn
