My brothers I am in need of some help.....
I'm pulling the head off my 2g, everything was going well until I got to removing the head bolts...I tried many different sockets, standard and metric, but everytime I apply a SUFFICIENT amount of force to the bolts, they (the sockets) slip. Im not sure if their starting to strip or if they slip because of being damp with oil...? I only tried a couple of times until i stopped and figured I'd throw this question out here and see what the pros have to say about it. I guess what im asking is if this has happened to anyone, and the proper sizes and sockets that you used to get this job done. My garage is loaded with all the equipment i need...i have almost every airtool imaginable at my disposal so lets get fockin nuts....thank you all in advance.

are you using the right point pattern on the bolts...if not that can cause strippind due to them being so high torqued, also i suggest drowning them in jb80 or some kind of bolt losener spray. and try to keep them drenched for a few hours and try again...then use something like a pipe for leverage on the ratchet tighten it a bit the bolts down a bit then tug at them and hopefully that should break them free...well thats all my ideas for getting out head bolts
good luck:thumb:

Thanks fellas....chalk this one up to trying to do too much in one night....it was a long day of working on the engine and i wasnt paying enough attention to what i was doing.....five star you are right the proper socket is a 12mm 12 point....i was using a 12mm hex and thats why it was slipping....as for anyone else having this problem make sure you have a 12mm 12 point THE HEX WILL NOT WORK.

Thanks Again Fellas,
