Crossville,
ok i've searched about all day and i can't find anything that helps me out. anyway i just installed a Greddy Type S BOV and dejon tools UICP. i've only got the one vacum hose hooked up to it cause i don't have a MBC and i'm on stock turbo. anyway at whenever i get started making boost or about in the 2800-3000rpm range the BOV makes this god awful noise! it's a noise like when you blow up a baloon and then stretch the ends so the air comes out and makes a loud screeching sound. i'm pretty sure it's not supposed to make that sound so any of you might know what it is? thanks

tighted the screw, that sound might be the bov sound its supposed to make but its making it at low boost cause the screw isnt tight enough or something and its letting air out at low boost. just my 2 cent.:thumb:

edit-Do you have a boost gauge?? if not its time to get one.

yeah i have a boost gauge. but i've read were that screw doesn't do anything without the 2nd vacum hoses hooked up to the smaller nipple? and i've had it really tight and really loose but still makes that noise.

hmm...i dont have a type s, or know alot about them, but maybe you need to cap off the nipple your not using, maybe your leaking out of that. Are you making full boost?

20 psi sounds like a waste gate problem. You might want to go back and check your Vacuum lines. Where is the blow off valve getting its vacuum from?

just getting vacum from the vacum line on the stock BOV. i'm gonna take everything apart right now and tight everything up real good to see if that helps any. i think i might just have a couple screws loose here and there especially where the BOV is on the pipe.

Your BOV probably isnt tight enough to the UIP, and the noise you hear is the Gasket fluttering, similar to when you used to pinch a blade of grass between your thumbs and blow as a kid, tighten up ther bolts and you should be good

The noise you described sounds like what I heard during a boost leak test that showed a huge leak between the bov, gasket, and upper i/c flange. Might want to re-do it.

I'd definately tighten the BOV and see if that helps. As for the boost spiking to 20 lbs that is what happened when I put mine on without a boost controller. I didn't have any problems with it for a while as the t25 drops off to around 11psi in the higher rpms as it can not flow enough. When I put in my profec b it ended the spike and i hold boost until redline just fine. :talon:
