Hi,

I started to hear a knocking sound (like gears not matching) where my 3" downpipe meets my transfer case. The noise is not coming from inside the transfer case. And I noticed that my downpipe is rubbing against the transfer case a little bit. When you shake the downpipe or move the transfer case up and down or when you slide the drive shaft back and forward you hear this sound. Working on jack stands isn't helping me. So, is there someone who might know what it is and what I need to do? I will investigate more and will try to keep you up to date.

Thank you for the help!

Sincerely,

Sven

I...I...HTH does the downpipe meet the transfer case???

How are you shaking the downpipe...isn't it bolted down...maybe it is loose.

How are you moving the transfer case up and down...dude you are strong!!!!

Seriously tho check the driveshaft bearings.

Hi,

Just to keep you updated. I noticed that when I moved my motor I was able to hear the noise. So, I found out that after recently putting energy suspension motor mounts that one of the bolts wasn't tight. I fixed it and the noise was gone. I will do some test driving today and if there is still a problem I will let you guys know.

Thanks,

Sven
