I know there are alot of tech articles on white smoke, but none of them really fit the description of my problem.
I replaced my fuel pump with a new one, and have been doing alot of other mods to my car lately. In fact, the same day, I gutted the catalytic converter, and re ran all of my vacuum lines with new tubing. While doing so I noticed my timing belt was a bit loose, so I re timed the motor to be on the safe side. Ever since that day, I have been leaving huge billowing clouds of white smoke behind me.

It doesent happen when I am accelerating, and if I get on it, I can go all the way from 1st through 5th without any visible exhaust. However, the second I take my foot off the throttle and begin to decelerate I fill the street behind me with smoke. Based on what I did to the vehicle recently, it doesent make sense that it would just start doing that. I adjusted my maf translator to make it run leaner, but that did not affect the smoke at all.
I am stumped.
Please help

My turbo seals went out a while back and I was making some serious white-out clouds. It was totaly embarassing. Only thing is I cant remember if the smoke was during acceleration or deceleration. I think it was deceleration.

Open up your intake piping and see if its full of oil. You might need a turbo rebuild.

Thanx You guys... I checked my spark plugs for water spots... none...
I then put in some water leak additive but it did not change anything... It must be the turbo. my ispark plugs are black with soot even though my afc is leaning my car out a little, and if I drive easy and dont spool up the turbo there is no smoke at all. Only when I get on it and then let back off does it start smoking.
 Man I love this site
Now I have sufficient cause to put in for that turbo upgrade. :thumb:

Thanks,
