Burning oil

I can't quite figure this one out. My car burns about 1 1/2 quarts every 1000 miles. I did a cylinder leak down test and had no more than 12% leakage in any of the cylinders. I can see how that would cause a very very little oil burning problem, but not like this.

The only other option I could think of is my turbo. Is it possible that it could be burning that much oil? Any other possibilities that I'm not thinking of?

Oh, and there are no leaks.

The turbo can cause you to burn a lot more oil than that even, my old 14b went through a quart every 250 miles when it was coked up and had bad seals.

Another possiblity would be that your valve stem seals are worn. If this is the case then your car will consistantly blow out a bluish/white smoke at idle. You may also want to check the bolt in the oil pan. It may be leaking.

i had the same problem as you but im n/t. so i basically tore down my whole motor, sent the head out to be rebuilt. and i replaced my rings, and when i went to change the rings, i had to much burnt on oil in my ring gaps that it had clogged up the oil control ring holes for returning the oil. so i ended up scraping all that crap out and putting every thing back together, but now i cant get my car to start. its something electrical i believe.

I don't believe it's the valve stem seals because the car never blows smoke, except for black smoke under full boost. There are no oil leaks.
